Abstract

This study investigated the occurrence and correlates of bullying among individuals with disabilities in higher education. The sample included participants with diverse types of disabilities and educational backgrounds. The findings indicated that a substantial number of participants had experienced bullying, often linked to their disability status. Bullying was commonly reported among peers of similar age and gender, and took various forms such as harassment and verbal insults. Responses to bullying varied, with some individuals choosing to ignore the incidents. The results also suggested that gender played a role in the prevalence of bullying, while the type of disability had a less pronounced but still relevant effect. The study highlights the urgent need for targeted interventions to address bullying in higher education settings for students with disabilities.
