Abstract

This study explores the development and impact of a country musical drama addressing adolescent issues. The performance aimed to foster understanding between teenagers and adults through traditional Thai melodies in country songs, accompanied by a brass band. The script, developed with a psychologist's input, was designed for academic rigor, and necessary song copyrights were secured for legal compliance. The performance was recorded and published online to reach a wider audience. To assess effectiveness, 88 participants aged 18 and above were evaluated before and after viewing the performance. Before viewing, participants had an average comprehension score of 5.73 (median = 6/10), with scores ranging from 0 to 10. After watching, the average score significantly increased to 8.78 (median = 9/10), with scores ranging from 6 to 10, indicating a significant improvement in understanding. The study concludes that the musical drama effectively communicated complex social and generational issues, achieving its goal of promoting awareness and understanding. The performance’s success highlights its potential as an educational tool and platform for fostering social awareness, with implications for future academic and social development projects.
