Abstract

Tourism in Southeast Asia significantly contributes to regional economic integration because of its abundant cultural heritage, biodiversity, and strategic positioning. This study categorizes ASEAN countries into several categories according to tourist visitation, growth rates, and foreign direct investment during the past decade. This study employs secondary data to classify countries as tourism leaders or those experiencing political, economic, or infrastructural challenges. This research emphasizes the necessity for targeted sustainable tourism initiatives through the use of scholarly literature, government documents, and policy frameworks. The results underscore the imperative for regional collaboration and investment in sustainable methods to address vulnerabilities and enhance the economic and environmental advantages of tourism.
